Zoey had always lived her life on the edge, always getting involved with things that she probably shouldn't be. She was always a best friend to Tessa and Tessa was probably her only real friend. While other people in school thought she was a skank, her real friend Tessa knew she really did have a heart.

After Tessa's mother left it was now in her dad's hands to take care of her. Quitting his job and never going out, his life was limited to taking care of Tessa and her brother.
